French President Emmanuel Macron made a significant visit to Indonesia, underscoring the strong partnership between the two nations. He received a warm welcome from President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta during his visit.
Macron stressed the opportunity to enhance the strategic partnership between France and Indonesia, particularly in economic, technological, security, and cultural cooperation. With 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, notable progress has been achieved over the past decade. Macron also commended Indonesia for its role in maintaining regional stability in the Indo-Pacific region, highlighting advancements in bilateral defense cooperation, renewable energy, transportation, and energy transition initiatives.
Cultural collaboration was a focal point of Macron’s discussions, culminating in the signing of a cultural agreement at the Borobudur Temple complex as a symbol of the blossoming friendship between Indonesia and France.
