MAS (14) legal counsel will consider appealing the case of the murder of his father, APW (40), and grandmother RM (69), as well as injuring his mother, AP (40) in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta. The lawyers stated that they are still in the process of deciding whether to file an appeal or not after the sentencing in the South Jakarta District Court. MAS was sentenced to two years of social rehabilitation at Sentra Handayani in East Jakarta.
The legal team mentioned that they will need to discuss and listen to the opinions of the child facing legal charges, including the victim, which is his mother. They are also studying the judge’s decision to determine whether to pursue legal action or not. Additionally, they hope MAS will receive thorough health examinations and treatment for his condition.
Since June 10, 2024, MAS was no longer detained at the South Jakarta Metro Police Station but was placed under the Ministry of Social Affairs’ supervision. The judge’s ruling will reduce the imposed detention period. Furthermore, during rehabilitation, MAS is required to undergo psychiatric therapy and have the results reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office every six months.
The case number is stated in 8/Pid.Sus-Anak/2025/PN JKT.SEL, and the closed trial took place in Room 7 of the South Jakarta District Court at 14.30 WIB. The leading judge was Lusiana Amping, along with prosecutors Indah Puspitarani, Mochammad Zulfi Yasin Ramadhan, Pompy Polansky Alanda, and Alisa Nur Aisyah.
MAS allegedly committed the crimes in Bona Indah Housing, Lebak Bulus, Cilandak, South Jakarta on November 30, 2024, at 01.00 WIB. During police interviews, MAS mentioned experiencing disturbing influences and might be suffering from a mental disability.
