President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, commended Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for successfully mediating the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, leading to a ceasefire. The commendation was conveyed during their bilateral meeting at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. President Prabowo congratulated Anwar for his leadership as ASEAN Chair and for securing the ceasefire. Indonesia expressed readiness to support Anwar, not only as Malaysian Prime Minister but also as ASEAN Chair. Prabowo urged ASEAN nations to resolve regional conflicts peacefully through consultation and negotiation. He emphasized the importance of mediation for conflict resolution, particularly for Southeast Asian countries with shared cultural and historical ties. The meeting was attended by senior members of the Red and White Cabinet, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono.
