Prabowo Subianto, the President of Indonesia, recently appointed General Tandyo Budi as the Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), along with the installation of six new Regional Military Command (Kodam) commanders, 20 brigade commanders, and 100 Territorial Development Battalions. During the event, Prabowo also awarded the Bintang Sakti Medal of Honor to soldiers who demonstrated exceptional integrity.

In his address, Prabowo stressed the importance of leadership within the military, emphasizing that commanders must lead from the front. He highlighted the role of military leaders as the first line of protection for their soldiers, particularly in hazardous situations.

Rejecting the notion of commanders staying behind the lines, Prabowo emphasized the need for leaders to set an example by leading from the front. He urged military leaders to treat and train their troops with care, comparing the relationship to that of caring for one’s own children.

Prabowo concluded his remarks by reminding the military leaders of the TNI’s identity and mission, emphasizing their role as the people’s army, born from and serving the people. He emphasized the readiness of the TNI to defend and if necessary, sacrifice for the people.
