President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, expressed his administration’s unwavering dedication to the education of the nation’s youth during his State Budget 2026 Financial Note address at the start of the House of Representatives’ plenary session in Jakarta. The 2026 state budget, Prabowo’s first since assuming office, will allocate a record-breaking Rp 757.8 trillion to education, emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing high-quality education. Prabowo highlighted the importance of effectively utilizing education funds to enhance teacher welfare, improve vocational training, and align curricula with industry needs. The budget breakdown includes funding for various programs such as Program Indonesia Pintar and scholarships for university students, as well as upgrades for school and campus facilities. The President also aims to strengthen People’s Schools and Garuda Excellence Schools to broaden access to quality education for disadvantaged children. Additionally, Prabowo emphasized the significance of advancing Indonesia’s expertise in STEM fields to compete globally in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
